Manu Bhaker finishes impressive 5th in Women's 25m Pistol Qualification Precision Round

The 19-year-old shot a perfect 50 during the sixth series, which propelled her to the fifth position on the standings as she put behind the disappointments of 10m Air Pistol events to finish 5th in the Precision Round of Women's 25m Pistol Qualification at the Asaka Shooting Range on Thursday.

Manu Bhaker has shut out all the noise after a disappointing few days on her Olympic debut as the teenage shooter came up with a strong showing in the Precision round of Women's 25 Pistol Qualification at the Asaka Shooting Range on Thursday. She had a difficult opening week at the Tokyo Olympics, enduring a pistol circuit malfunction during her 10m Air Pistol Qualification round and a poor outing during the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event.

Manu Bhaker got off to a confident start in the precision stage of the 25m sports pistol qualification round, registering a total of 292 of her six 5-shot series. Manu Bhaker shot 592 with 9 inner 10s. She opened with a 97 and managed another 97 before finishing off strongly with a 98.

The shooters will next take part in the Rapid stage tomorrow, from where the top eight will qualify for the final.
